Applicants must be able to offer an idea that would translate into a show, workshop, exhibition etc. that could be shared with those of the public. Events and activities should involve as many people as possible whether as organisers, contributors or spectators.
It is intended that the ‘Festival’ should run throughout the year and not restrict itself to a single week or weekend. Successful applicants would hold their own event under the ‘banner’ of the Festival, in a way that best suits them, acknowledging the financial support they have received in their publicity and on tickets and programmes.
The grant could help with, for example, travel expenses and fee for a workshop leader, conductor, soloist, guest performer; the hire of specialist equipment; the co-ordination/production of a combined event, such as a Scout/Guide Gang Show.
Drama, Dance, Music, Choir, Poetry, Art, Photographic, Scout, Guide, Schools and Youth Groups could all find themselves empowered by the Trust Funds to greater heights!
